Scientific Interests:
Firstly, my scientific interest is to be able to develop a greater and broader knowledge for the biological sciences and hence, use my computational background to solve biological problems related to my research.
Research Project:
Identify relationship between cell wall stiffness and the motility of Borrelia Burgdoferi.
Publications:
Noginov MA, Zhu G, Belgrave AM, Bakker R, Shalaev VM, Narimanov EE, Stout S, Herz E, Suteewong T, Wiesner U. Demonstration of a spaser-based nanolaser. Nature. 2009; 460 (7259); 1110-2.
Favorite thing about UCHC/Hartford Area:
The environment at UCHC is friendly and the fact that it is an academic institution/ hospital keeps it interesting. CCAM would be my most favorite thing, since it is comprised of people from various different areas (i.e. Physicists, Chemist, Mathematicians, Engineers and Biologist), which allows me to feel more at home. The area also has a nice quiet, homey feel to it, great for raising families.
Miscellaneous:
I believe what excites me the most in my studying here at UCHC is the fact that I have little biology background and I am anxious to see that moment when I can speak to someone in any biology field and actually understand what they are saying. Loves to play volleyball, and has an eye for designing.
